How to get content ideas
If you’re a content creator, you know the drill: You sit down at your computer, ready to write an article or create a video, but…you have no idea what to make. Suddenly, that blank screen (or empty notebook) is staring back at you, taunting you with its emptiness.
Don’t worry–we’ve all been there. The good news is that there are some tried-and-true methods for coming up with content ideas, even when you feel like you’ve exhausted all of your options.
Here are a few of our favorites:
Check out what’s trending on social media
Social media is a great way to see what people are talking about and get inspiration for your own content. If you’re not sure where to start, try checking out Twitter’s trending topics or using a tool like Google Trends to see what people are searching for online. You can also use social media to see what content is resonating with your audience and get ideas for how you can create similar pieces of content that will be successful with your own audience.
See what others in your industry are creating
Keep an eye on what other companies and individuals in your industry are doing–chances are they’re facing similar challenges as you and their content may give you some inspiration for addressing those challenges in your own way. Of course, you don’t want to copy anyone else’s work directly, but seeing what others are doing can help jumpstart the creative process and give you some ideas for how to approach topics in a new or different way.
Ask your audience what they want to see
One of the best ways to come up with content ideas is simply to ask your audience what they want to see from you. You can do this through surveys, social media polls, or even just informal conversations with customers or followers. Not only will this give you some great ideas for new content, but it will also show your audience that you care about their interests and opinions–which can help foster loyalty and engagement down the line.
Or… use AI to make content ideas
Even though the ones before are powerful in their own way, people are busy. We are always looking for the most effective way to get content done. In some cases people stop making content just because it takes too much time. In almost every case this is the number 1 worst thing to do, since every shot you don’t take is a missed one. With AI it’s easier to get ideas just by adding a few words to a generator.
Just write a simple: “What kind of content should I make for my line of business?” And our generator gives you 5 suggestions straight away. Another good question we’ve used is: “When does our target group think of our services?” It’s a question that let’s you step in your customer’s shoes in a one second. The best part is you can then turn those ideas straight to text on our app.
